Costel Iarca’s artistic career spans decades and continents. Before moving to the United States, he worked as a teacher of Religion and History for elementary school students in Romania. Teaching young minds helped him develop a deeper understanding of human emotion, spirituality, and personal expression. These experiences gradually found their way into his paintings, giving them a reflective and philosophical character.
Since relocating to the United States, Iarca has continued to develop his artistic presence through exhibitions and gallery displays. His work has appeared in several respected venues including a solo exhibition at the MacNider Museum in Iowa in 2008. In 2009 his paintings were included in a group exhibition at the Andrews Art Museum in North Carolina. Later, in 2015, his work was displayed at the University Club of Chicago.
One of the most significant aspects of his artistic journey is the gallery he established in Chicago. Since 1999 his work has been displayed in his own gallery located on 122 South Michigan Avenue, directly across from the renowned Art Institute of Chicago. This location places his art within one of the most vibrant cultural environments in the United States and allows visitors from around the world to experience his evolving creative vision.
Over the years, his work has also been featured in art magazines and newspapers, further expanding the reach of his artistic voice.
